Sato is making his third Championship start in 2026 and first since 2024 when he made the cut in Japan. Earlier this year, he finished third in both the Japan Amateur and Japan Collegiate Championships. In 2025, he won the Japan Amateur and earned low amateur honors in the Australian Open at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
